Midnight Train to Georgia Crystal American Idol Top 10

"Midnight Train to Georgia" is a 1973 number-one hit single by Gladys Knight & the Pips, their second release after departing Motown Records for Buddah Records. Written by Jim Weatherly, and included on the Pips' 1973 LP Imagination, "Midnight Train to Georgia" won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance By A Duo, Group Or Chorus and has become Knight's signature song.

There's something new about Crystal Bowersox this R&B week. She's doing the classic Gladys kinght song "Midnight Train to Georgia", Crystal is wearing a stitletto and playing the piano. It's the same old Crystal Browersox on stage-nailing the song and keeping the aduience in awe of her amazing voice.

On the American Idol 2010 Top 10 showdown Crystal Bowersox sang "Midnight Train To Georgia" and the judges bought a ticket for the ride. Starting from behind the piano Crystal showed her diverse musical talent before picking up the microphone and wooing the crowd. Gladys Knight must be proud this evening. Randy Jackson said it was another great performance and complimented her on her look and stage presence. Ellen Degeneres pointed out that Crystal recovered from a knockdown last week and is now "in it to win it." Kara DioGuardi was "so glad she took that risk" and can't wait to see what Crystal does next week.
