Gupta, working presently with the Research and Analysis Wing at Delhi, is the ninth witness to depose before the special court in connection with the case. She was serving as an additional superintendent of police in Faizabad in 1992 and was posted to supervise the security of the Ram Katha Kunj Manch in the vicinity of Babri structure, which was occupied by Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar, Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya and Sadhvi Ritambhara.
She informed that she has visited Masjid along with Advani on the same day accompaning with Murli Manohar Joshi, Vinay Katiyar, Vishu Hari Dalmiya, Pramod Mahajan, Uma Bharati, Sadhvi Rithambhara, Kalraj Mishra and Acharya Dharmendra were among others on the spot to visit the damaged Masjid.. During that period Anju was Advani’s PSO on that time. About thedemolition Advani claimed that it was natural accident and it was out of control. He informed it was the saddest day in his life.
Gupta is one of the most important witnesses of the CBI to establish that the eight accusd in the case, one of them LK Advani, didn’t try to stop destruction of the said structure on December 6, 1992, reports said.
