Duke has the three national championships and the 14 Final Four appearances, but when it comes to today's NCAA South Regional final game in Houston, the Blue Devils don't have a huge advantage on Baylor.
It is fairly common for schools to have both of its teams advance to the round of eight in the same season. That happened three times in 2009 - it could be three more this season if Kentucky's women advance - and 14 times since 2000. But this is the first time ever that there has been the same regional final matchup in both brackets since the women's tournament began during the 1981-82 season, according to STATS LLC.
Duke crossed a major hurdle when it advanced past the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2004. There’s no time for backslapping and congratulations though, as upstart Baylor is up next.
Do the Blue Devils have enough to counter the Bears’ backcourt talent and overall athleticism?
