NASA Current History in Events

History: --
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, pronounced / nasa /) is an agency of the U.S. government responsible for the civilian space program. NASA was established by the National Aeronautics and Space Act, 29 July 1958 replacing its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). The agency became operational 1 October 1958th [3] [4] NASA has been leading U.S. efforts in space exploration since then, culminating in the Apollo missions to the moon, Skylab space station, and later the Space Shuttle. NASA is currently supporting the International Space Station, and develops new Ares I and V launch vehicles.

Apollo program: --
The Apollo Program was a NASA Space Flight effort that landed the first humans on the moon. Apollo 11 landed on the moon, July 20, 1969 with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins orbit above. Five subsequent Apollo missions also land astronauts on the moon, the last in December 1972. These six Apollo space flights twelve men walked on the moon. These are the only times humans have landed on an other celestial body.

Space Shuttle: --
The Shuttle was the focus of NASA in the 1970s and 1980s. Planned to be a normal launch comfortable and mostly reusable vehicle, four space shuttles were built in 1985. The first to launch, Columbia did so on 12 April 1981.

International Space Station: --
He International Space Station (ISS) is an international development research facilities currently gathered in Low Earth Orbit. In the circuit construction of the station started in 1998 and is scheduled to be completed by 2011, with activities continuing at least until 2015. The station can be seen from Earth with the naked eye, and in 2009, is the largest man-made satellite in Earth orbit, with a mass greater than any previous space station.

Mariner program: --
Mariner program was a program conducted by NASA, which launched a series of robotic interplanetary spacecraft built to explore Mars, Venus and Mercury. The program included a number of innovations, including the first planetary passed the first pictures from another planet, the first planetary orbiter, and the first Gravity assist maneuvers.

Voyager: --
Viking program consisted of two spacecraft sent to Mars Viking 1 and Viking 2nd Each vehicle was composed of two parts, an orbiter designed to photograph the surface of Mars from space, and a Lander designed to study the planet from the surface. The satellites also served as a communications relays for the country when they touched down. Viking 1 was launched 20 August 1975 and the second craft, Viking 2, launched on 9 September 1975, both riding on top of the Titan III-E rockets with Centaur upper stage. By discovering the many geological forms that usually are formed from large volumes of water caused the Viking program, a revolution in scientific ideas about water on Mars.
