Dwight Gooden charged with driving on drugs

Dwight Gooden, 45, is no stranger to problems with drugs and alcohol. He’s been through five rehab stints and served jail time in connection with his cocaine problem back in 1996.

Recently, though, Doctor Dwight Gooden had remained out of trouble for a good amount of time and was said to have been sober for about 3 1/2 years, leading up to taking over a minor league baseball team as the senior vice president.

A former major league baseball player, Dwight Gooden, who is famous as Doctor K – shortened as Doc, was reportedly arrested Tuesday morning for DUI (Driving Under Influence). According to MLB, Dwight Gooden was arrested during rush hour in relation to a two-car crash which reportedly happened at 8:50 a.m. Beside that, he’s also charged with leaving the scene and reckless driving.

It gets worse, though. Dwight Gooden had his five-year-old son, Dylan, in the car with him. So you can tack on charges of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger and endangering the welfare of a child.

Former Major League Baseball star Dwight Gooden has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs and leaving the scene of an accident.

The former pitcher for the New York Mets and New York Yankees had a child in his vehicle at the time of the two-vehicle crash around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Franklin Lakes police Capt. Joseph Seltenrich said.

Police wouldn't say whose child it was, but they said no one was hurt.
