Hollywood movie News 02.03.10: More of the Same

I've done a bit of mulling over Apple's latest invention / product, IPAD. It is a thoroughly confusing product. At first glance it is a tablet, but it is not really a tablet. And it's not really a giant pied Touch either. It is not an e-book reader. I think it is a great potential as a very cool gimmick - perhaps not as productive appeal, but it is an interesting idea. As a student I could see to get it around with me to take quick notes, but not seriously to write about it. It is too big to carry around when you only go out for several days, but at work or school may be more practical. And I do not know if I want something like watching a movie or listening to music. But I must see one before I decide what I absolutely believe in it. Off topic, but let's get the news.

  • Oscar nominations are Announced

Now is the this list is pretty hefty, since I do not like and pages of pointless lists, I will only take in the link here if you are interested. That said, it's nice to see the Avatar get so many nods. It is quite a difficult film to ignore right now, though. If the Oscars go the usual route, but something like an education or in the air beats everything else for best picture. I have heard much good about The Hurt Locker ales, so maybe it will escalate. Up will of course win the intimation, I imagine Cameron will win the director. But who knows, maybe there will be some big shake or some actual representation of people's interest in film. We must wait until March to see.
